I was working as a teacher at Moga Devi Minda Memorial School at Bagla in Hisar.

There was PTM in the school. I announced in the class to attend the PTM with their parents. The next day in the morning when I entered the class a saw a boy sitting in the classroom. I asked him about his parents. He said to me that my parents will join the PTM later.

I was busy with other parents. It was almost 12 noon when parents stop coming. I was so busy that I forgot about that boy. After some time I was winding up the things then I saw the boy and asked him about his parents. He felt hesitated and started crying.

I consoled him and asked the reason for his sadness. He told me that mam my parents will not come to attend the meeting. I asked him how did he come to school? He lived at Dhani ( it is a place in the field where people build houses mean houses in the field) and he told me that he traveled 5 km on foot and then by bus he reached school.

He was in 3 classes. I asked him why did you come? When your parents denied coming to school. The boy replied that mam you announced in the class yesterday come to school with parents to attend the PTM.

My parents denied to come that’why I decided to come to school alone to attend the PTM. His reply touched me 💓. I thought my words are that much important to someone. Since morning he was hungry.

I offered him my own lunch. I requested one of my colleagues to drop him near his house. Being a teacher is really a blessing. After that, I became more responsible.
